Benefication of Mayanchi Gold Ore, Zamfara State, Nigeria

Abstract

The research deals with benefication of Mayanchi Gold Ore. The Work involved sample collection and preparation, followed by chemical analysis of the head sample using XRF, mineralogical analysis of the Head sample crushing, grinding, particle sieves size analysis, sluicing and panning were also carried out. The result of XRF analysis revealed that Mayanchi Gold Ore contains; 82.1%SiO 0.8%CaO, 0.045%MnO, 2, 0.0762%CuO, 9.4%Fe O 0.015%ZnO, 0.720%PbO, 0.019%Au and among others. The 2 3, result of XRF analysis for the concentrate revealed the Mayanchi Gold ore contained; SiO in 4.17%, BaO in 5.22%, Al O in 3.49%, Cr O in 10.0%, MnO in 4.34%, Fe O in 2 2 3 2 3 2 3 6.20%, CO3O4 in 2.01%, ZnO in 2.09%, Ag O in 16.48%, SnO in 2.02%, Au in 8.70% and 2 2 among others. It is recommended that future concentration method should be carried out on Mayanchi Gold ore.
